I shared a rented house with an ex-boyfriend. My credit and employment was fine but he needed a guarantor for his half of the rent.(The guarantor was only for my ex because he was self employed) After a couple of months we parted and he didn't pay his half of the rent or any of the bills at all.

Now his guarantor is threatening to take me to court to get his money back, can he do this? He's really harassing me with late night text messages and slandering my name where I used to work. I know i'll have to approach the police about the phone texts, but am I really liable for the money?
