On July 2nd, I stayed at a 5 star hotel in which an engagement ring and cash were taken from the hotel room. I have been told by the Hotel's insurance agent, that the hotel is only responsible up to 100 sterling as per the Hotel Proprietors Act? If this is true, why isn't this law disclosed at the time of check in? Has there been any cases in which the total amount of the loss has been recovered?
