Lawyers-UK makes no statements on a lawyer, expert, or service provider’s availability or readiness to assist in any issue by presenting biographical pages. This site’s content and services are provided “as is” and “as available.” Lawyers-UK makes no express or implied warranties, representations, or endorsements about any information or service provided through this site or the Internet in general; the fact that a lawyer, expert, or service provider is listed in Lawyers-UK does not guarantee or imply that the lawyer, expert, or service provider will achieve any specific result in a legal or professional matter or a better result than a lawyer, expert, or service provider. As the legal profession’s oldest and most prestigious peer review magazine, we seek to guarantee that inclusion in our publication reflects not just legal competence, but also the highest standards of ethics and professionalism. We request that any disciplinary action taken against one of our listed attorneys be submitted immediately for review. Legal disciplinary actions should be reported to Kristen Greer, Senior Research Manager.

Specialization in the Law

Lawyers are classified according to their areas of specialty based on peer recommendations, not on their own representations. The inclusion of a lawyer in a certain specialisation should not be interpreted as a claim by that lawyer. Numerous jurisdictions and provinces need attorneys to be certified before claiming specialisations, yet many of the specialties recognised by Lawyers-UK lack certification programmes. Those interested in a lawyer’s speciality certificates should contact the lawyer or the appropriate state or provincial bar association.

Experts are included in their respective fields of competence based on the recommendations of listed attorneys or their companies, not on their own assertions. A mention of an expert in a particular field of knowledge should not be interpreted as an assertion by that expert. Numerous jurisdictions and provinces need specialists to be certified before claiming knowledge, yet many of the fields of expertise recognised by Lawyers-UK lack certification programmes. Individuals interested in an expert’s certificates should contact the expert or the appropriate state or provincial body.

Service providers are featured based on the recommendations of listed attorneys or their companies, not on their own assertions. The mention of a service provider should not be interpreted as a claim by that service provider. Numerous jurisdictions and provinces need service providers to be certified in order to claim specialisations, yet many of the services recognised by Lawyers-UK lack certification processes. Individuals interested in an expert’s speciality credentials should contact the expert or the relevant state or provincial body.

Terms & Conditions of Advertising

All print and digital advertising is subject to Lawyers-UK clearance (the “Publisher”). The Publisher maintains the right to refuse advertising that does not adhere to the publication’s standards, violates the contract’s terms or conditions, or infringes on the publisher’s copyright and goodwill interests.

The Publisher does not guarantee the insertion of any advertising unless the Advertiser agrees to pay an extra fee as specified on the appropriate rate card. Guaranteed placement requests are not binding on the Publisher until the Publisher confirms the desired space is available. Requests for placement of any fractional advertising unit may be considered, but will be at the Publisher’s discretion and cannot be guaranteed. Advertisers will be contacted before to publication if their required placement cannot be met exactly. No assurances that aim to exert influence over the placement of another advertiser’s text will be approved.

No terms, whether stated or not, appearing on the insertion order, invoicing order, or copy instructions that conflict with the publisher’s rules as set out below shall be binding on Publisher. Verbal agreements are not enforceable or acknowledged.

When an insertion order is cancelled, the entitlement to standard industry “position protection” is gone.

The publisher’s obligation to the Advertiser (including its agents, advertising clients, representatives, employees, and affiliates) for any inaccuracy will not exceed the cost of printing the advertisement in question. The cost of publishing is influenced by the size of the advertising unit, the print run of the magazine, the volume of distribution, and the total production expenses. The Publisher disclaims all responsibility and liability for any mistake in any Advertisement that the Advertiser has authorised for final print. Additionally, the Publisher disclaims responsibility and liability for any inaccuracy included in an Advertisement published without the Advertiser’s express permission. Verbal permissions are not valid or enforceable.

The Publisher disclaims all responsibility and obligation for the quality of print reproductions of advertising for which the Advertiser supplies the copy (artwork, text, or images). Unless otherwise specified, the Publisher will take the Advertiser’s material “as-is.” Advertisers are advised to speak with the publication’s advertising coordinator if they are unclear of the appropriate print standards for high-quality reproduction and to submit any changes to pictures or material in writing. Additional costs for changes may apply based on the kind of Advertising unit purchased and will be paid individually. A copy of the production charges is available upon request.

Publisher takes no duty beyond refunding any payment deposited by Advertiser with Publisher in advance of an advertisement’s publication if, for any reason, a scheduled issue or publication must be cancelled or delayed. Additionally, the Publisher is not liable for damages resulting from delays in delivering any publication or issue for any reason, or from non-delivery caused by any force majeure, including any Act of God, third-party action, any governmental or quasi-governmental entity, insurrection, riot, explosion, embargo, labour or material shortage, transportation interruption of any kind, work stoppage or slow-down, or any other condition.

Advertiser may cancel an insertion order without incurring any charges as long as Publisher receives such cancellation prior to the issue’s Space Closing date (s). Advertisers that cancel an insertion order after the advertising space closing date will be invoiced at the full rate in effect at the time of publication.

Advertisers will be invoiced for space if Ad Materials are not supplied by the material deadline. The Publisher will generate advertising materials for the Advertiser and send them to the Advertiser for approval. If no consent is obtained, the items will be printed as-is and Advertiser will be responsible for payment.

Advertiser is solely responsible for adhering to any legal advertising restrictions or regulations in the jurisdiction(s) in which the advertisement is published. Lawyers-UK, LLC is not liable for advertising filed with any bar association or other organisation, nor for any related costs. Advertiser is not entitled to any credit, offset, or refund in the event that an advertising is rejected by a bar association or other applicable authority.

Publisher shall invoice the party stated on an insertion order for any money due Publisher from Advertiser, but Publisher maintains the right to hold both the end Advertiser and its advertising agent jointly and severally accountable for any monies due and payable to the Publisher.

Advertiser and advertising agency agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Publisher from any and all responsibility arising from the content of and/or illegal use of ads printed at Advertiser’s request.

Anyone intending to advertise using Lawyers-UK trademarks, service marks, intellectual property, and/or trade names must receive written authorisation from Lawyers-UK. Additional fees will apply for high-resolution logos referencing Lawyers-UK.
